Collective X launches Co-Funded Initiative to Build Quality Digital Talent Pipelines
Collective X is excited to announce the launch of a co-funded digital skills initiative designed to give employers greater influence over the development and quality of their digital talent pipeline. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for employers to participate in one of Collective X’s transformative projects, as we implement a change strategy to address the inefficiencies in the current skilling system. We aim to equip businesses with the right digital skills to remain competitive, foster growth, and create employment opportunities.
Our co-funding model makes it financially viable for employers to join this critical skills development effort. Together, we can ensure that our ecosystem is developing young digital talent that is both technically proficient and well-prepared to thrive in the workplace and succeed in the digital world of work.
If your organisation is impacted by the digital skills shortage and needs entry-level digital talent, Collective X will co-fund and support you in developing the right skills, at the right quality.
Collective X’s Digital Skills Change Strategy
The lack of standardised, high-quality digital education in South Africa has created a significant gap between the demand for and supply of skilled workers, limiting the country’s ability to develop a strong local digital workforce. Even those with the necessary technical skills often lack practical experience, soft skills, and industry-specific knowledge, making it difficult for them to thrive in real-world work environments.
This initiative presents a unique opportunity for employers to play a key role in shaping the future of their digital talent pipeline.
By aligning quality entry-level skills with business needs, Collective X aims to address inefficiencies in the current skilling system and empower businesses to remain competitive while creating employment opportunities.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
- Co-Funded Model: A financially viable opportunity to develop a skilled digital workforce.
- Employer-Led: Employers will be the primary applicants driving the initiative.
- National Reach: Open to employers across South Africa.
- Wide Coverage of Digital Skills Included: All entry-level ICT professional roles are included, ensuring you can develop skills aligned to your business needs.
- SFIA Competency Framework Alignment: Beneficiaries will meet a minimum SFIA level 3 competency.
- Work-Integrated Learning: Practical experience must be included to ensure that youth can apply their skills in the workplace.
